Pearls To Swine – The band that did what could have been done.
Relevance - The band that managed to put out an album and consistent live shows and thus gave the Guyanese rock scene a sense of stability.
History – On January 1st 1996, some courageous souls agreed to put together the core of a rock band after a jam. Those five courageous souls were Roger Deygoo (vocalist), Paul Bonar (bass player), Charles Spellen (guitar player), Jude Mendonca (drummer) and Rawle Roger Staunton (guitar player). After a few months of intense rehearsals, the band took on the name Let It Be(LIB) and set out on its first sets of gigs doing mostly covers. In April 1997, the band name was changed to Pearls to Swine. Then came other changes. By the summer of 97, the definitive line-up was formed with Gary Inniss as vocalist. The band set about developing its identity by working on more originals. Boldly moving forward the band gigged from October 1997 onwards. In March 1998, the band went to Suriname with the goal of recording a two song demo, returning home with ten. The band continued gigging, eventually releasing the ten song demo as Light and Shade. In June 1999, Pearls to Swine said goodbye.
Status – Disbanded
