Feed the Flames was started by Gavin Lee Persaud (vocals/bass) and Gavin Singh (leads/rhythm guitar) in summer of 2008 officially. Nicholas Chung(drummer), Quacy Cayasso (ex-member), Lee Fung-A-Fat (ex-member) Imran Baksh (ex-member) joined shortly after this was Feed The Flames in its early stage, the young musicians had their first band meeting on the 26 May 2008 where the positions were designated to each member. FTF had difficulty finding a location for practice, The first place they got was at G.E.B but they were forced to leave shortly after by the landlord due to a conflict of interest, they then acquired another location in Barr street Kitty but they were forced to leave because the place was not sound proof and the neighbours complained about the level of the noise. The band ended up playing anywhere they could get, in Nicholas Chung’s yard, Jerries, MBC channel 93/42 and Butchers. Then a friend offered a place located in Sophia which they had to rent. The band got regular time to have practice sessions and after working together just before the summer of 2009 their first original was completed “thoughts of a dreamer” was written by Quacy Cayasso, the band composed the music. The band felt a sense of accomplishment but was later faced with disappointment when their Sophia band room was broken into and all equipment was stolen. Then the line-up of the band changed when Imran Baksh quit and Quacy Cayasso migrated to the U.S.A, Facing all of this the rest of the members pushed on but it was difficult to find a permanent location for practice.
As fate would have it Gavin Persaud met Emilio Martins a fellow guitarist who accommodated practice sessions at his place in Eccles. After seeing a few sessions Emilio joined Feed the Flames and the band started to learn more covers such a Smells like teen spirit (nirvana), All the small things (blink 182) breaking the law (Judas Priest ) etc. After months of songs not their own they decided to be more original and their first original after a long time was made “Sons of Sin” shortly followed by “Firefight” these 2 songs were tested at concerts FTF played and was very well received. The line up changed again after Lee Fung A Fat left to pursue his studies, 2 new faces were added to the band after Lee left Gavin Mendonca (vocals, rhythms, bass) of Keep your day job joined and Rene Caldeira (vocals) a friend of the band . The new line up of Feed The Flames got to perform once at Jerries on waterloo street, boxing day 2011. Right now FTF is continuing their work so that an album would be released in time to come.
